As a longtime Mahalo Daily fan (from Episode 1), I am truly sadden to see how much the quality of the show has deteriorated. Now, the show is nothing more than a clip show that has been done by many others (for the better, including PopTub). It is always best for a show to go out on a high. Sadly, this show has jumped the shark. (P.S. I understand that you may not want to print this and instead suppress the opinion of your loyal viewers. If so, then I have proved you right that this show no longer cares for its fans.)

My only request would be that you give us more specifics…What kinds of shows would you like to see from Mahalo Daily? This is the 40th episode of This Week in YouTube, and the format has been consistent since the very first episode. (I should know…I write them all…) Are you just tired of this feature? We don’t want to lose our long-time viewers…I try to do my best every week to produce a show you will want to watch. Help me.

I was very sad when Leah left the show. I had hoped that quality and quantity of show would continue at the same level. Unfortunately, both have declined. Instead of a couple of show per week, there is just the Friday TWIY. TWIY was an excellent concept, but with Leah’s departure, it just isn’t the same. There has been absolutely no chemistry between Lon and his co-hosts. For the most part, the female co-hosts have been phoning it in.
To answer question Lon posed in his response to JohnS: I want to see a return to the shows Veronica did towards the end of her time and Leah did at the beginning. Shows about interesting people, places and things. Reports from the major tech shows. I found them interesting and fascinating. I would also recommend getting a steady female co-host ASAP. There were many other talented women during VLOG Idol that would make better co-hosts when what we have seen. Michelle Hummel and Sarah Atwood are two the ones that come to my mind.

Thanks for the thoughtful response, TW. Because you were so constructive in your comment, I feel I owe you an honest and forthright response.
You have a number of alternatives if you want to see a host do interviews at a major tech show…Veronica and Leah were FANTASTIC and did this job really well, but even with their considerable talents, we never managed to get above the fray and get large-scale attention with this type of programming. (I’m not knocking those shows, by the way…I learned about what a web show was by watching those kinds of shows.) Don’t forget…we’re a start-up, and not a start-up that specializes in producing videos, either. It’s costly and time-consuming to pay for a host and crew to travel the world in search of hot gadgets when you have a human-curated search site and a Q&A service to run.
The one area of the show that did manage to break out, earn some traffic (and some money) and make an impact was TWIYT. So we decided to focus our efforts there. It was not really up to me, for the most part, but I can’t say I hated this decision. TWIYT is my baby, and I love doing it.
I’m asked several times a week when we will settle down with a regular female co-host again. I’m sure this will, in fact, happen at some point. But I’ll be honest…I don’t feel rushed. As you say, there is a lot of great talent out there, and I’d like to get them all into our studio before we settle on one person. (Both Michelle Hummel and Sarah Atwood are on my shortlist, although they’re both VERY busy with other projects, too. Ideally, I’d love to reunite with all the Vlog Idol finalists at least once.)
I can’t really speak for the “lack of chemistry” or what have you between myself and my co-hosts. Obviously, I’m too close to the show to view that sort of thing objectively. All I can do is tell you that we’re doing our best to produce a fun, entertaining program for you every week, and promise that we will come in each week striving to create something even more goofy and energetic. There’s no phoning it in on Mahalo Daily…you may like the jokes and the videos, you may not, but please know that we’re giving it our all.

one thing is certain – with little skill and a lot of effort – even an elephant can reproduce a chicken ort :)

This was the worst one yet. Just do a separate TWIYT podcast and quit putting Lon on Mahalo Daily. He is clearly not up to the task. Another thing that was disturbing was to see an attack on the Bible. We know you’re not Christian but negative attention is childish. Do you have any real talent? Get back to what worked for getting me to your podcast – A cute AND smart girl talking about tech and other INTERESTING topics. Smart geeky women are hard to find. There’s only one Veronica (only one Leah too), but you can can do better than the abysmal level you are at now.

I work the nightshift at my job and it is so boring. I have been coming here for the previous couple nights and reading.
