Thanks for all the great shows, Leah, and good luck with the Australia Tourism Board and whatever else you take on in the future! You’ve been a great collaborator, co-host and friend, and we’ll all miss you.
February 27th, 2009 at 2:31 pm
JasonNation looks like he needs to pay his hosts a little more to keep them around. So does this mean another game show runnoff, or will this kill Mahalo Daily?
Interesting times! One positive thing though, someone got some work in the economy. :)
Onward and upward all.
February 27th, 2009 at 2:36 pm
The show will go on, every Friday, like always. And my promise to you, J.V., and our entire audience, is no more reality shows. In fact, that initial reality show initially started as a one-off parody of reality shows, and only developed into a series because we saw so many great auditions. We’ve got something else big planned this time around to keep me from getting too lonely at that desk all by myself.
February 27th, 2009 at 2:54 pm
@Lon – did you just call me Junior Varsity? :)
Prediction: iJustine. Full stop.
February 27th, 2009 at 3:18 pm
Leah…we are going to miss you on Mahalo Daily…Good luck on your venture to Australia…
We enjoyed your last episode on Mahalo Daily…it was hilarious.
February 27th, 2009 at 3:30 pm
Good times, Leah – and good luck getting the job in Australia! The question I have is, what’s next for Mahalo Daily? Should we expect another VLOG idol series? More iJustine? Andrea Rene? Lon solo (pun intended)?
Hope there isn’t too much of a hiatus.
February 27th, 2009 at 4:18 pm
No hiatus at all. TWIYT will be back next Friday. Same Mahalo time, same Mahalo channel. There will also be occasional one-offs and other episodes as well. (I’m just saying…someone named Lon is attending the Larry the Cable Guy roast…)
Guesses are welcome as to the new line-up, but you’ll get neither confirmations nor denials from me.
February 27th, 2009 at 9:55 pm
Oh geez. I thought the Australian tourism board thing was a joke. Please Leah, at least wait to see if you get said job first. Aw man, I hate this economy.
February 27th, 2009 at 11:32 pm
Another host change? Who’s it gonna be this time?
February 28th, 2009 at 1:30 am
Hope this is a bad joke. I wonder how fast I can unsub from mahalo daily. Try selling a commercial if you need the bucks. (or maybe sell the stupid car)
February 28th, 2009 at 12:22 pm
What’s the realio dealio?
February 28th, 2009 at 1:07 pm
Where is Leah really going? To what company to do what, some details will be nice. This means that the other girl, the blond will host the show or what? Why are you’re keeping us in the Dark?
February 28th, 2009 at 1:23 pm
The goal is not to leave anyone in the dark or cover up the “realio dealio,” as it were…
I’m just not sure of all of Leah’s future plans myself, and am not sure what, if anything, she’d want me to discuss publicly at this point. So I’m just saying a fond farewell and promising you all that I plan to continue producing This Week in YouTube episodes of the same quality and style, featuring one or more new faces. And without any more fake reality shows.
Her leaving the show was amicable, and by her choice, and we will do our best to keep you posted about what up to in the future. (Certainly, should she start making new videos, you’ll see them featuring in TWIYT!) She will be dearly missed, and as my co-creator and producer, can never really be 100% replaced.
Oh, and Chad: You can unsubscribe to Mahalo Daily VERY quickly. I’m pretty sure it’s just one button for most subscription systems. You’ll be missed, too.
February 28th, 2009 at 1:34 pm
Seriously you guys? I already removed it from my iTunes Subscriptions. iJustine/Lon do not equal Leah.
February 28th, 2009 at 8:13 pm
Best of luck to Mahalo Daily and Leah! Lon….keep the faith and find another great co-host. Leah good luck with the contest and let us all know how it goes!
March 1st, 2009 at 6:26 am
So sad she’s gone. I mean, you’re great Lon but Leah is nowadays the heart of this show. Hope you find someone as beautifull and cheerfull as her to try a replacement, which I think will a hard task for you on mahalo. I wish Leah nave great joy on taking this position on Australia. Sorry for
my bad english. I’m from Brazil.
March 1st, 2009 at 8:02 am
Oh that’s a Bummer! She was such a great host.
March 2nd, 2009 at 4:39 am
I’m confused by all the unsubscribers… What is Lon, chopped liver? Some of us were even fans of the show (gasp) before Leah was ever on it! Wrap your brain around that.
March 2nd, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Leah certainly has raised the bar.
March 2nd, 2009 at 5:19 pm
Relax guys – I wasn’t sure about MD after Veronica left and look how well her replacement turned out.
Come to think of it, what is Veronica doing these days …
March 2nd, 2009 at 6:16 pm
Veronica is doing very well hosting Tekzilla with Patrick Norton on Revision 3. Tech was always more her specialty anyway.
March 2nd, 2009 at 6:25 pm
Re: Orange County Wedding Video. Veronica Belmont is the very successful cohost of Tekzilla on Revison3, amongst other things.
March 2nd, 2009 at 7:35 pm
It’s sad to see Leah go. She built on Veronica’s early successes and added an extra dimension to the content. Lon, you’ve also done a great job too – I hope you will be a mainstay.
I have know idea who the next presenter could be. iJustine is an interesting choice, but lets not limit the options to just her.
March 3rd, 2009 at 6:06 am
ijustine? meh. what about jessica mae stover or one of the other smart girls with performance talent……but would they even do MD?
March 3rd, 2009 at 10:28 am
I think Reggie has a point. Who would want to work for those guys. Mahalo obviously has some problems internally.
March 3rd, 2009 at 2:44 pm
How about going back to making this a daily podcast? Let’s face it, Mahalo Daily hasn’t been daily for quite some time. At best we’re getting 2-3 episodes per week now. Depending on who replaces Leah, I may unsubscribe. If you get Justine Ezarik, I will still watch, because she is hot.
March 3rd, 2009 at 3:19 pm
There in lies the problem Mike. Mahalo needs a lesson in Brand Marketing. How do you expect to get more advertisers if you go from 5 shows a week to 1-2 shows a week. It looks a sinking ship. If you were an advertiser would you advertise on Mahalo Daily? You have to spend money to make money.
March 3rd, 2009 at 3:32 pm
Lon, dude, you’ve got to quit running off your co-hosts, man! I LOVE this show! It was great with both Veronica and with Leah, plus all the random guests. It’s great nerdy fun, and informative as well. Please, Jason, please (x5) don’t do another Idol-style search. I unsubscribed last time and kept checking back each week until it was all over. It was a rough month or so, and I don’t know if I can stand it again. Just pick someone from your current staff and bring them up to speed. There’s talent in the house – use it! If you want to give some new folks a try-out, fine. But PLEASE don’t try and sustain the reality thing. It’s terrifically boring to most of your viewers.
Thanks, Leah, for your wit and charm, and for going out with a face-plant. If you aren’t willing to take an elbow, you’re no good for a fun variety show, and you proved you’re a real trouper! “Good on ya” down under – come back and guest host when you’re back in town, if they let you!

Smitty, my second comment on this thread was the following:
“The show will go on, every Friday, like always. And my promise to …our entire audience is no more reality shows. In fact, that initial reality show initially started as a one-off parody of reality shows, and only developed into a series because we saw so many great auditions. We’ve got something else big planned this time around to keep me from getting too lonely at that desk all by myself.”
I remained committed to this promise. There are no plans for more reality show-style content. Thanks for watching!
March 4th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
That was too abrupt! Not to mention unfortunate.
March 4th, 2009 at 5:08 pm
You’re right John…not to mention, you’d think Mahalo would have had something new up right away to quell the anxiety of its viewers. Not the brightest move.
March 4th, 2009 at 6:58 pm
Can’t you at least hire one of the finalists you had before hiring Leah. I voted for Leah, but now wish I had voted for someone who would be committed to the show.
March 4th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Lloyd…you have your facts wrong, because Mahalo is sending the wrong message and should clarify the situation.
Leah was more than committed to the show and it showed. I wish Leah would comment on this thread so we all knew the realio with demilio.

Hey Everybody!
Thanks for all your comments and questions. Here’s the dealio! As Lon mentioned, Mahalo Daily is going a new direction, which no longer requires a full time host. I was absolutely 100% committed to MD and me leaving is a result of the change in format, not me quitting the show.
This Week in YouTube will continue on Fridays with Lon and various guest co-hosts. Please give them your support! I know I will keep watching…and even make a cameo now and then ;)
As for my career, I will continue working in entertainment – both online and in the “real” world – and am launching a new project very soon. You can keep up with what I’m doing next by following me on Twitter and subscribing to my blog The Dealio with D’Emilio.
I sincerely enjoyed working with Mahalo Daily and everyone on staff. This has been a great opportunity and I am thankful for the time I had with the show. Hopefully, this clears everything up and you can all go on watching TWIYT, as well as my new projects once they hit the web! You’ve been a wonderful audience!
Please feel free to keep in touch and send me your comments/questions/suggestions!
All the best,
Leah D’Emilio

Leah, I hope you get more acting jobs, as you have natural talent. I loved the old format, not sure if I will stick around for the new without you. You and Lon were a natural team.
