I’d like to send this video to the mayor of my city and see what he thinks about this great idea of National Park(ing) Day in our city. Looks like you have a lot of happy people in Santa Monica.

Though it looks nice to sit out in the sun, if there’s one place in the world that actually needs MORE parking spaces, it’s Santa Monica. I can’t help but think that the extra pollutants put into the atmosphere from cars that had to needlessly circle because they couldn’t find a spot actually made our environment a little bit worse on that day and our air a little bit more smoggy.
Let’s work to actually achieve more open spaces and cut down on our driving than to expend all of our efforts on symbolic gestures.
