I’ve never changed a tire. This is a good lesson for everyone. You make it seem so easy.

Growing up in Alaska, I got to change my own tires (or really wheels, I guess) from summer to studded and back each year. Fun times.

A most informative episode. This is one of the worst thinga that can happen on a road trip if you don’t know what to do…

Wow! I just called “Three A’s” and told them to cancel my coverage! Leah didn’t even get her hands dirty. Now give us a shot at seeing what she can do under the hood of the car! Can’t believe that Lon walked off and left a lady in distress.

Leah,
One more thing, you really should have informed people to regularly check the pressure in the spare. Those tires loose air pressure too and there’s nothing like having your spare tire blow out on you because it was dangerously low!

Thanks for the feedback! This was a fun episode. I did get my hands dirty and my clothes…guess it was hard to see on tape! I definitely feel like I would know what to do if I ever got a flat on the road *knock on wood*. Checking the pressure in the spare is VERY important!
Keep the comments coming!

Wow that car has a sucky spare! My Subaru has a full size spare and I dont know what I’d do without it.

Speculum. heh. I know what that means.

Very cool. Definitely need to get a jack and some tools in my car.
August 10th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
One thing you missed. You shouldn’t make the final tightening of the lug nuts until the jack has been removed from the car. When the wheel is off the ground, it will be difficult to tighten them properly since the wheel may turn.
