Hey Gary, how come there’s no love for the Spaniards when you talk about reds - I mean, that Rioja is some pretty slick stuff!

“You Wanna Mack Some Girls” …
Heh. Guess that’s what happens when you pair two social media luminaries — Kevin Rose of Digg and Gary Vaynerchuk of WineLibraryTV — for an online video wine tasting. Mack away, boys. Call me if you need some pointers on…

First of all, after watching Kevin consistently drinking beer in every Diggnation episode, I´m kind of surprise of this change. Anyway, please keep it that way, I can´t picture you drinking wine with Alex. I don’t now, maybe you should give it a try someday.
Second, Gary reminded me Stan from Monkey Island… That’s what I call speed talking! Regarding what he said about wine, even though I´m not an expert, I disagree with several things. The most important: you should not pour the wine on a decanter without tasting it. You are risking to ruin the taste and fragance that the winemaker intended to build and you are also exposing it to over-oxidation, which means that it will taste a liitle like vinegar the day after if you don’t drink it all at once. Don’t do it if it’s not necessary.
Salud!

Yeah, Gary V may have talked fast, but you could understand every word he said. And that’s a huge difference ! Some people talk fast, but you can’t understand them..
He is very interesting to listen to.. he puts the facts out there fast and efficiently, but always with a conversational twist.. hard to do and make it entertaining.. but he pulls it off..
Good episode !

I know it’ s kind of the point, but I’m considering subscribing to winelibrary.tv as a result of this, and I’ve never been a fan of wines partially because of a.) the bitterness and b.) the perceived pretension of wine aficionados.

I prefer red wine to white so appreciate any news and reviews of red wine in particular from the Languedoc Rousillion region of France.
