This weekend we took a trip down to Long Beach to check out the Formula Drift competition, where a dozen high powered cars tear around three corners of the famous Long Beach Grand Prix track with the aim of impressing an array of judges (and, of course, a packed crowd). To find out why exactly anyone would want to ruin their rear tires, we spoke to several of the racers. If you like the smell of burning rubber, this is the event for you!

Thank God you guys didn’t subtitle the first guy, Darren Macnamara.
He’s Irish and sounds like he’s from somewhere around Co. Louth. It’s an appalling accent that gives the impression the speaker’s tongue has swelled 9 times its size and that consonants have recently been outlawed.
However, please take note most Irish people do NOT speak like this. And they don’t speak anything like Hollywood Irish either ;)
That’s my rant for the day. Love Mahalo Daily, haven’t missed a single episode yet! Sad to see Veronica go, but I think Lon and co. can do a great job themselves!

Good clip!
Point of correction: Long Beach hasn’t been in “the 213″ for close to 20 years. It split off with the west side into “the 310″ in 1991, then in 1997 became “the 562″.
