Ethanol sounds great for the environment but if you do a little research you will see that the production of ethanol pollute more than normal fuel… so it need improvment

I am from Brazil, Here we produce a lot of ethanol. 90% os new cars come with the flex fuel system.
Biodiesel is more expensive to produce, you have to use soy bean, on the other hand with ethanol you can you sugarcane.

Here we dont you corn, only sugarcane, because its a lot cheaper and produces a lot more ethanol per area of crop.

E85 seems like the worse alternative to petrol that they’ve come up with lately. It isn’t any better for the environment and drives up prices of many food items, and while it is cheaper if you have a station near you, your miles per gallon is much lower than petrol. E85 is great for performance sports cars as it’s a higher octane, but it’s completely stupid to use in normal vehicles.

  6. Allen Says:

I think E85 is just a beginning. It’s better than doing nothing. People will find a way to improve all disadvantages of E85.

Yeah glad to see other means for fuel are being explored. The problem is raising prices of corn, etc change their plans quickly and then they have to spend time exploring other items.
