MD023 – Dog Training
Everyone thinks puppies are fun and adorable, but they can also be a handful if they’re not trained properly. In this episode, we introduce Mahalo Daily mascots Taurus and Fondue to Caryl “Miss Doggiemanners” Wolff, who gives them a refresher in how to behave like proper pups. Trust us, we’ve got a doggie treat in store for you.

I had no idea about most of that, and I have had dogs for years. That was very useful! Now, really, I would love to see her train a cat do that stuff!

Now you need to do a segment with the cats. Somehow I doubt they will learn as well as the dogs :)

The fact that so many blogs focus on pet shows once again that they are indeed man’s best friend. It’s great to see so many people now looking more seriously at dog’s health issues, whether it’s dog food or pet insurance.

Hi Caryl,
Great video! Doggie Manners is the best! I totally agree with your approach of no-force training. I’ve never felt comfortable using the leash to “train” my dog. Perhaps, I’m a softy, but I absolutely hate those pet owners who hurt the animal to try and get obedience. Thats just not right.
Keep up the great resources!
Warm Regards,
Anthony

Great video, enjoyed watching it. It’s always important to keep your pets in their best possible shape. It is a fact that pet lovers who have pet insurance will take their pets to the vet more often, thus keeping them in better shape. Since pet insurance is different from human health insurance it is worthwhile to learn about it at http://www.thebestpetinsurance.com before making a final decision on a policy. Best wishes to all the dogs out there. :-)

I’m a believer in pet insurance too, it has saved me over the long term for my dog. I did spend some time shopping around before I decided on a company. I found some helpful information at http://www.petinsurancereview.info while deciding on a company.

On discouraging jumping dogs the trick is teaching your dog not to jump on guests, or getting some helpful friends to help you teach them not to jump on guests.

Training your dog is something that so many people overlook. I keep a blog about finding the best pet insurance which is another things that is commonly overlooked.
There is a lot of responsibility that goes into owning a dog. Thanks for reminding us of the importance of training!

Hey! I have been so inspired by what you write that I felt compelled to contact you today and talk in person. There are limits to what blogging allows and sometimes face-to-face or phone conversations fill in those gaps. The reality is that blogging is the way that we are introduced to each other and connected in a way never before possible. It IS an exciting time to be an educator!
